From u-blox to Trasna: Your questions answered

As you may know, u-blox’s cellular modules are now part of Trasna. It’s the same trusted products and team, but now with even greater possibilities. To support a smooth transition, we’ve compiled the FAQs below to help clarify the process and what to expect going forward.

Transition overview
Will current contracts remain valid?
Yes. Existing customer and distributor contracts will remain mostly unchanged or with minimum adjustments. Trasna is expected to finalise updated contracts by 1 July 2025.
Any change to sales T&Cs?
There are no major changes. Terms remain similar to those under u-blox.
Orders, pricing, and support
What’s the current order process?
Continue listing u‑blox as the vendor on POs, but now email them to Trasna orders. Orders will be validated and then forwarded to u‑blox for processing. Confirmations, invoices, and shipments will continue to come from u‑blox, with Trasna in copy.
How are orders handled during the transition?
During the initial handover period, u-blox will continue to receive and fulfil orders under current terms until further notice:
- Orders continue via u-blox under the current terms
- Deliveries confirmed by u-blox with Trasna copied
- Trasna takes full ownership after the transition period
Do I need to set up Trasna as a vendor now?
Not yet. PO and invoicing will remain with u-blox during the transition. Trasna onboarding is expected to take place across August and September. We’ll share full details in advance.
How will pricing be affected?
No major changes. Slight adjustments may apply to combo modules or those using the R5 chipset.
Any changes to delivery times?
No. Lead times remain as-is unless affected by external factors.
Who should I contact for order changes or updates?
Contact your regional Trasna Sales or Sales Operations Specialist. Please avoid contacting u-blox directly.
Where do I request a quote?
Trasna will provide quotes. However, orders must still name u-blox as the vendor during the transition period.

Will technical support or escalation processes change?
No. The same support team and escalation path apply, though some contact points may shift.
What about warranties and RMAs?
Trasna will handle these from now on.
Will support for existing modules continue under Trasna?
Yes. All existing u-blox modules will continue to be supported, maintained, and enhanced by the same experienced team, which is now backed by Trasna’s added scale and chip-to-cloud capabilities.
Product continuity and roadmap
Will Trasna continue to use u-blox manufacturers?
Yes. The same production sites will be used, with potential additions in the future to better serve local markets.
Is Trasna continuing cellular product development?
Yes. The original Sgonico R&D team, now part of Trasna, is actively working on a strong product roadmap. We’re doubling down on development, investing in our cellular module range and exploring the synergies of having a complete IoT value chain from chip-to-cloud.
Are there any new product plans?
Yes. Expect innovations including integrated eSIM/device management solutions and 5G RedCap IoT-friendly modules.
Are documents and certifications still valid?
Yes. Datasheets remain valid under new branding. Certifications are in the process of being transferred, with minor paperwork required in some cases.
