CellLocate is a network-based location service designed to provide accurate positioning in environments where GNSS signals are weak or unavailable. By leveraging cellular network data and Wi-Fi access points, it ensures continuous location availability across a wide range of IoT applications.
Embedded directly within Trasna cellular modules, CellLocate is a ready-to-use, end-to-end solution that eliminates the need for additional hardware or complex integrations. With a simple AT command, devices can retrieve location data using Cell ID and Wi-Fi measurements, ensuring seamless operation across diverse deployment environments
This approach addresses the limitations of standalone GNSS, particularly in indoor, urban, or obstructed environments such as tunnels, buildings, and dense city areas where satellite signals are unreliable.

CellLocate performance depends on the density of cellular infrastructure and the availability of Wi-Fi data. In dense urban environments, accuracy can reach tens of metres when Wi-Fi data is available, while cellular-only positioning provides broader estimates in the range of hundreds of metres to kilometres.
The system prioritises Wi-Fi data where available, improving precision through fingerprinting techniques based on multiple nearby access points.
